Festival Finales and Party Points
This is just a basic suggestion that's been rattling around in my noggin, and as far as I know, I've never seen it suggested before.
During the finale events at the festivals, like when Mad King Thorn is in town, make it so that Festival items give double party points. They did this during Gaile's Farewell party, and I have to say that it really made the event special having such such grand displays of fireworks during such appropriate times.
Basically, give a reason for people to save their items and use them during festive times of the year.

I like the idea, party items are not so easy to obtain so it would be more then nice to get a "bit" more out of them !

As long as Gaile's party was fun, why take out something that special and make it common in events. Good idea if it was implemented from start but now it will start a rage attack by those who maxed sweet/alcohol/party

Why do I have the feeling you have 5k party items stored away just waiting for the next double party points event?

but def make party points more obtainable outside of events, doesnt seem worthwhile spending 20-25 mins doing snowman dungeon for 1-2 points.

But I would like to see party items easier to obtain outside events, maybe add a party item to merchant.

And people used those items before there was a title, and did not receive points retroactively when the title was implemented. Same thing happened when they made it so trading for jade/amber counted towards the faction titles. Same with the Zaishen chest.
They didn't give a crap then, why should they start now?
I see no logical reason not to do this. If making a bunch of people sad because other people can achieve a title slightly easier if they have the patience to wait it out for the next event is all you've got against it, you've failed to convince me otherwise.

Once a skill is created, it must be used.
It's what they are for.
Use Party Time Again.

I think it's a great idea. Yes, people that have maxed these titles will be mad, but it would definitely create more incentive for people to attend those events.
I also agree that party items should be made easier to obtain (i.e. make them purchaseable at the merchant for the equivalent of the Rice Wine/Red Bean Cake price).

Nope, I don't really go in for titles like Drunkard or Party Animal. I just have a small stash of them that I use for fun every now and then, like my guild's weekend events or other similar happenings. The reason I suggest this is because I just like the festive atmosphere.
And I do see that retroactivity could be a problem. I'm not sure how they could address or solve this unless they have very detailed logs ranging back to the inception of the title. Though I have say, they did it for Gaile's Farewell Party and no one brought that up the retroactivity issue. And since the title wasn't introduced until Feb. 2008, then it would still be viable for them to start the tradition for at least Halloween and Wintersday.

It isn't fair if the Galie retirement thing was a one shot deal. I, and many other poeple I know, got party animal soley because of that weekend. Everyone should be given the same opportunity.

this is an obviously great idea
double party points and festival finales go hand in hand, and i honestly don't see it as making some customer support finale thing less special then it was apparently supposed to be.
making things more and easily accessible is what guild wars is all about isn't it?

i would like this but i would also like to see it switch from party, drunk and Sugar so like halloween would be a party boost, wentersday would be sugar boost and the canthan newyear/dragon fest would be a boost to drunk.

I see no reason why this shouldn't be implemented. It's not like festival events happen all that often anyway, plus it's the only way to get the items so why not make it worthwhile?

Hm... I think that it could work like this:
- Even starts.
- People o what is required to do in the event (Wintersday contest, Dragon Festival, pickups, Halloween emotes, etc...)
- Depending on how well people do, the district will get 0..3 party bonuses for 5..50 minutes.
- Then, the party bonuses are given randomly.
If people do well in the district, they'll get the 3 party effects (Drunk, Party, Sweet) for 50 minutes.
IF people are just sitting around there without attending the event, there will be no event bonuses.

I like the idea, even if the bonus is given in small spurts, as with the Farewell to Gaile event.
EDIT: Is "No, because people who did it the hard way will be pissed" a good argument? For all your extra work, you got to have the title before others...
